service mode allows for device info to be shown, firmware to be dumped¹⁾, and most useful, unlocking the 30 minute video recording limit (note that doing this places the camera into service mode permanently).

• DMC-ZS60: with camera off, power+disp+right+menu to enter service mode. with camera on and in service mode, show data is playback+menu+left, record timer unlock is playback+menu+up.
